Attitudes and Perceptions Survey
Environment Bay of Plenty has completed its 3-yearly perceptions survey to find out the attitudes of Bay of Plenty residents towards the natural environment and Environment Bay of Plenty as an organisation. The telephone survey took place between February and March 2007.
Community Outcomes Survey
Environment Bay of Plenty has completed its first perceptions survey to find out the attitudes of Bay of Plenty residents towards the Bay of Plenty Community Outcomes. The telephone survey took place between February and March 2007.

The Environment Bay of Plenty survey was undertaken by Key Research consultants and consisted of a randomly chosen sample of 1300 Bay of Plenty residents with an overall margin of error of +/- 2.72% at the 95% confidence level. Quotas were set to meet quotas for age, gender, ethnicity and area to ensure the sample represented the actual make up of region’s population.
The report shows the results of each question at a regional level, and also broken down to three sub-regions (western BOP, eastern BOP and Rotorua). The report also compares any significant differences within the respondent demographics where apparent.
The Environment Bay of Plenty survey was run concurrently with the Community Outcomes survey (see below).

The Community Outcomes survey was a joint project between the Bay of Plenty local authorities to establish a baseline measure to see how well each city/district, and the region as a whole, is progressing towards the outcomes identified by the communities themselves. Each Council will use some of this information as part of a comprehensive report to their communities to indicate the social, economic, cultural, and environmental wellbeings status of the city/district.
The Community Outcomes survey was undertaken by Key Research consultants and consisted of a randomly chosen sample of 1700 Bay of Plenty residents with an overall margin of error of +/- 2.38% at the 95% confidence level. Quotas were set to meet quotas for age, gender, ethnicity and area to ensure the sample represented the actual make up of region’s population.
The report shows the results of each question at a regional level, and also broken down to four areas (Tauranga City, Western Bay of Plenty District, Rotorua Distirct, and the Eastern BOP sub-region). The report also compares any significant differences within the respondent demographics where apparent.
The Community Outcomes survey was run concurrently with the Environment Bay of Plenty survey (see above).
