Wairoa at above Ruahihi Power Station


Site Info:

This site was installed in September 1990 as part of the Tauranga Harbour investigations and forms part of the Natural Environmental Regional Monitoring network. River level and flow are measured at the site and are influenced by water released from the Kaimai Hydropower scheme.

Summer water levels at this site can get as low as 0.43 metres but normal water levels are closer to 0.76 metres. A high flood level of 5.9 metres was recorded at this site in January 2006.
