Waimana at Gorge


Site Info:

The Waimana Gorge water level recorder is situated in the lower Waimana catchment, some 7 km upstream of the Taneatua township where it joins with the Whakatane River.

Summer water levels at this site can get as low as 0.4 metres, but normal water levels are closer to 0.9 metres. A high flood level of 7.2 metres was recorded at this site in March 1964.
